The career of Mr Van Duffelen shows a broad range of fields of knowledge and expertise from wholesale of vegetables, fruit, flowers and plants; multinational cleaning services; satellite-communication; IT; energy; passenger traffic, education and publisher of psychological tests. There were always major changes from large growth, near-bankruptcy, complete change of management strategy. Often operating within defined scopes, sometimes completely on one’s own initiative finding a direction in the business that had not existed. The common line in his jobs was that they succeed earlier attempts of predecessors that had not worked out. The type of work reached upon the boundaries of possibilities. Mr Van Duffelen inspires, motivates, stimulates people and he is able to switch between tenacity, power of persuasion, vigorousness and being tactful. He is capable in terminating activities, changing and building. He is capable to communicate openly and has always been able to get the representatives of the working force on his side by respecting their role and position to their supporters. An enterprising person with a feeling for the needs of an organisation and interested in marketing and sales, as well as logistics. He has knowledge and vision on IT. Always looking beyond tomorrow, a strategic thinker, interested in business development and partnerships. He thinks about possibilities and not about limitations. Always looking for mutual interests.
